Hugs for Katie......

Morning all...... Had to replace my PC yesterday....so a bit behind on creating...

There is special fundraiser for one of our fellow crafters....

Sadly, Katie has been diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach Cancer. To read Katie's story in her own words, please visit her blog HERE.  To help with expenses, treatment, and care for her 3 young boys, Jak Heath has organized a digi stamp benefit. Several illustrators from the Digi Stamp Community have submitted fabulous images to create this wonderful set. All proceeds will go to Katie and her family. To purchase this set of wonderful images, please visit Jak Heath's Blog HERE

One of the stamp sets was contributed by our own Wendy Hall of Digital Delights

Digital Delights Tutorial Tuesday

It's Tuesday and it's back to work for me after the Bank Holiday..... got burnt yesterday as spent the day being dragged around the golf course with hubby, finding balls and caddying and got burnt, was only supposed to be there for a an hour or so.....

Anyway it's Tuesday Tutorial with me over at Digital Delights, please pop by to view my full tutorial.  Today I'm looking at basic 3D Decoupage also known as paper tole or layering, it is one of the most popular card making techniques in the UK.

Basically, its about creating 3D pictures from multiple copies of one image and layering using 3D Foam Pads, cutting out individual elements and glue into layers to create depth in the picture.

Basic Gimp Tutorial for using Digi Images

As I am a Newbie Tutorial Artist for Digital Delights By Louby Loo!!!!! (first Tutorial on Tuesday 22nd)

I have been exploring free graphic software to use with digital images, so others can have a go too. I have come across Gimp Free Image Editor Package, so here is a basic Gimp Tutorial how to create a basic card size canvas, layout, layers and to re-size digi images.

Let’s get cracking……

Open your program and select FILE – NEW:

Select FILE  then  NEW

Next a box will open to choose your canvas size. I have chosen my canvas to be 11” x 5.5”, with a white background:

Enter Size and click OK

We should have a blank canvas:

Next we need to add a transparent layer select LAYER a box will open and your screen will then look like this:

Select LAYER & NEW LAYER

Another box will open and we need to choose Transparency and click Ok:

Select TRANSPARENT then OK

So we now have our blank canvas and transparent layer:

Next we need to open the PNG image that we are going to use. I am using Honey Pot Larry from Digital Delights By Louby Loo.  FILE OPEN Choose Honey Pot Larry:

Select image then OPEN

Under EDIT, select COPY

EDIT then COPY

Close the image window.....

Now we need to paste in our new canvas, so after closing Honey Pot Larry PNG image, on your canvas select EDIT and PASTE.

Select EDIT then PASTE

We need to re-size Honey Pot Larry as he’s too big!  Your screen should look like this:

We are going to re-size to approx 5.5” Square but you can change the size to what you prefer.  We need to select TOOLS and TRANSFORM TOOL followed by SCALE:

Next the SCALE window will pop open – amend the width & height boxes type in 5.5 X 5.5 inches as shown below:

Select SCALE

Ok our canvas should now look like this:

Now we can save print Honey Pot Larry out on a piece of 8 1/2 X 11 inch (A4) cards stock.

You can see what I create with Honey Pot Larry on Tuesday 22nd on Digital Delights By Louby Loo Tutorials!

Please have a look at Digital Delights By Louby Loo Shop too!

Refugee Awareness Week Blog Hop

Angela from Toucan Scraps has a Refugee Awareness Week Blog Hop!!!!!!!!

It this week (14th- 20th June).  as in Angela's words "To raising peoples awareness of who a refugee is, about breaking the prejudice barrier and removing the mythical negative image that refugees have. Refugees come from very different backgrounds. The one thing they have in common is that they have been forced to leave everything they own behind, seek refuge in a strange land and beg for sanctuary"......

I wanted to add to my blog to to pass on the awareness week along with the blog hop and to learn more about the world!

I could not resist this super cute little "Teapot Pippin" who is free from SNR Card Universe created by Digital Delights By Louby Loo, Wendy Pippin is sooooo cute!
Here's what I have come up with tonight, hope you like it!
